Jelly (2025)

Taking from childhood memories of food, music, and traditions, to remember and celebrate the birthday of their grandma, this main character processes the feelings of grief during their dad’s 1st birthday after passing the only way they learned how.

Jelly is a very special and personal mini comic about the tender moments of cooking with family to nourish connection, pass down cultural traditions and even process grief. Inspired by my own family, my dad’s cooking and singing in the kitchen, and the coping and grieving process from my dad’s passing in 2021.
