Comic & Zine Making Workshops
Workshop Description: unleash your creativity through zines and comics! Whether you’re into collage, storytelling, doodling, sharing info, this workshop will guide you through simple zine-making techniques. No drawing experience required—just bring your ideas and creativity.
This fun, hands-on workshop will guide you through making your own comics and zines! Whether you want to craft an 8-page foldable zine using simple printer paper or tell your story in a bold, one-page comic panel, this class is perfect for all skill levels. This workshop encourages self-expression, humor, and visual storytelling in a supportive, relaxed space. All you need is your imagination — supplies like paper, pens, and markers are provided.
What is a zine? A zine is a DIY self-published booklet created for personal expression or distribution. Zines are a way to share your ideas, connect with others, or express yourself in a unique way.

Accessibility Statement: This workshop space is located on the first floor and is wheelchair accessible through the main entrance. A gender-neutral bathroom is available onsite. Seating is primarily on stools without backs, but a limited number of chairs with backs can be provided upon request — please feel free to reach out in advance if this would be helpful.
Workshops include verbal, visual, and written instructions. I begin each session with an overview of materials, safety, and process so participants can go at their own pace. You're welcome to take breaks, step outside, or move around as needed at any time.
The space is brightly lit with overhead lighting and a floor lamp. Music will be playing during the session — let me know if a quieter environment would make things more accessible for you.
Some activities (such as carving or sculpting) involve fine motor skills. Each guest will be provided their own tools.
Support people, aides, and ASL interpreters are welcome to attend alongside participants, though I am currently not able to provide interpreters myself. If you have any questions or access needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out ahead of time at [bithiahsart@gmail.com].
I’m always learning and open to making adjustments — I want this to be a welcoming and joyful space for everyone.
